I grew up skiing in Western PA, mostly @ Seven Springs. I now live in central PA and have skied most of the big resorts in the Poconos as well as WV, VA and MD. Seven Springs is definately the best all around resort on the east coast south of New York. I put Blue Mountain second, it has excellent terrain but lacks the atmosphere. Seven Springs has a wide variety of terrain. It can get crowded but you can always find an uncrowded, fun slope or two that will keep you coming back. The amenities are tops by far.

If heading West is not an option, Seven Springs may be a decent choice. However, be careful to check conditions before your visit... Seven Springs can easily go up to the 60s even in mid-Feb forcing the resort to use manmade snow. Also because of the weather challenge, Seven Springs tends to be icy.

Small beginneer slopes are shaping up nicely , they need a larger lift installed for the north face, many enthusiasts that shouldnt be in the advanced zones. food court is a joke!they overcharge for a sandwich and drinks!3.00 fries ,,1.00 for a 25 cent bag of chips,6.00 burgers,3.50 hotdogs, nachos from a cheap store 4.00!, 2.75 for a small drink ! c'mon! gimme a break! a lot of kids i saw were eating crackers and sharing one drink because of the outrageous pricing!bring a bag lunch instead!make eat their own lousy food!just a jab in the ole wallet!I'd rather go to a REAL mountain like GORE or Whiteface at least they have a mountain instead of a shallow hills
